Hokie Dokie Schtummers … we had ikkle crisis as Pina had a hiccup back in Austria and cannot get over for the gig. This meant that we had to find somneone to replace her and finding great acts at shorty notice is not so easy. (ergo: if they are good they are booked!!!!) But Reuben from Port Erin hooked us up with Jozeph Chowles from the Daturas… REZULT!!!! Now we have some worthy of kicking off proceedings for the Mighty GOLDRAY.
We are finally getting GOLDRAY down for the night. This is a bamussen (ex Hydrogen & Renaissance) and powered by the mighty Axe Weilding Kenwyn House (Reef Guitarist). If you love guitar this is the place to be……… this band are getting better and better. You are lucky to see them in such an intimate venue.
Get there early!!
Friday 28th Feb, The Queens Head, Box, 8.45pm Start. Five squiddz on the door
If you love punchy guitar riffs, and silky vocals, this is the one for you. A welcome return to heavy guitar lines, intertwined with smooth vocals that rise and fall with melodic precision. Kenwyn House of Reef and The Black Swan Effect brings his new band grooving to the stage and will have Schtumm rocking for sure. We can’t wait to turn it up to 11!
Jozeph cut his teeth playing bass guitar for The Nots ten years ago at the age of 14. Since then he’s had much success fronting a number of bands including The Speakeasy, The Rusticles and most recently The Daturas who last year got a foot in the door with Mumford and Sons record label, Communion. Producer Ian Grimble recorded the ‘Overlooked By The End’ EP for the band which was later mastered at Abbey Road and went on to open big doors for Jozeph. With The Daturas on short term break, Jozeph has compiled a short set off original music and covers from obscure artists and influences to preform locally at intimate venues.
