Richie Ros

The life story of Richie Ros is a testament to the human spirit and to the cathartic healing nature of music. Growing up in a state run orphanage in Limerick city, Ireland, Richie recalls feeling confused as to why his life was unfolding in the way it was.

It was on Richie's 11th birthday that his long sought after guitar eventually materialised from a teacher who taught him he’s very first song on the guitar “Johnny Be Goode”. To cope with such emotional turmoil Richie began writing and performing his own songs and he developed his own inner world where his emotions were expressed through music.

Despite the trauma of his early years Richie has refused to let his past define him. Richie had no control over the events in his life but the one thing he did have control over was his attitude.

Fate found him David Odlum, Grammy Award winning producer formerly of The Frames, who having liked the demo agreed to produce Richie’s Debut album “Odyssey” at Black box studio, France. The album is fittingly called Odyssey – the journey of a young boy who in spite of all the odds stacked against him had worked to create his own fairytale. The music in his soul had, in his own words, finally “set him free”.

“Odyssey” will be released in May 2019 and Richie Ros will be touring extensively, sharing his songs and stories with the world.

Larkham and Hall

Larkham and Hall bring the warmth and vibrancy of their personalities to their stage show as they take audiences on a roller-coaster ride of emotions, often regaling them with tales of their hair-raising adventures through Europe and Latin America. There’s no real translation for the Spanish word ‘Duende’, the indefinable magic at the heart of Flamenco. It’s something that can’t be possessed or explained, only felt. Join Larkham and Hall on their quest to bring the raw, emotional power of Duende to English song. You may not know what it is, but you’ll know it when you feel it.

Sarah Larkham and Elliot Hall play a fusion of country, roots-rock and soul to create a heady Americana blend with a focus on great lyrics and melody. The duo pair acoustic guitars and harmonised vocals with box drum, harmonica, mandolin and often violin and piano when accompanied by Charlie Rose.

About Schtumm....

Book your seat in advance to let us know you're attending and pay £10 cash on the door. This goes to the musicians playing on the night. The Schtumm team works voluntarily to enable grassroots music to grow and the venue makes what it can from drinks sales.

Held in the grounds of The Queens Head in Box, Wiltshire. SN13 8NH 

A country pub serving fine ales, a wide range of gin, wines and non alcoholic drinks. Independent food vendors are also present at some events. 

Indoors - The Longroom 

An intimate space used during the winter months with a maximum capacity of 40 seated. 

The Magical Marquee 

A gorgeous marquee, enjoy the live music whilst the sun sets in the Spring and Summer months. Maximum seated capacity of 60 and 20 standing. 

The Steve Hall Arena 

Our largest open air space used for larger events in the summer months. 60 seated and as many as you like standing! 

In case of poor weather, our outdoor arena events may be moved to the marquee. 

Delays may occur in case of electrical storms but rain won't stop us! 

Parking is available at The Selwyn Hall Car Park - a short walk from the venue.
